Description

With nearly 200 pieces of equiiments installed all around the world, MS has a considerable experience indispensable for these applications. This experience guarantees perfectly controlled performance and efficiency, including the recommendation of the most suitable additives.

Fields of applications

The MS filter-presses are mainly used in:

  • Mineral industries, for the treatment of clays, kaolin and other minerals
  • Quarries and sand pits, after the flocculation and thickening section
  • Underground work, for the treatment of the bentonitic sludge
  • Environmental industries, for the final compacting of sludge and wastes (mud, concrete grouts, polluted soils).

Project method

For each project, in its laboratory, MS studies the sludge filtrability, performs tests on samples and extrapolates the key figures to determine the proper sizing of the filter-press and design its installation within the general process.

Design & Manufacture

The combination of various criteria (plates size and type, operating pressure, additives, options...) allows MS to provide a large range of filter-presses with volumes from several litres up to max. 11 m3, and filtrating surfaces from a few sqm up to max. 500 m2.

With a robust and fully automated process, MS filter-presses are installed with a reliable and patented cake-release system, decreasing dead time through the production of moving mechanical parts, which again reduces the risk of system failure. Combining reliability and efficiency, the MS filter-press is the ideal production tool.

Installation on site

  • The installation, the start-up and the follow-up of MS filter-presses is performed by MS personnel, in order to ensure the full satisfaction of our customers
  • The MS filter-presses can be installed in a seperate container, in a specific building, or on concrate walls

MS also proposes the most suitable sludge pumping section:

  • Volumetric or centrifugal pumps
  • Possible addition of filtration booster (polymer, lime...)
  • Storage silos, air, sludge & electricity network

Options

  • Weighing sensors, located underneath the filter-press feet, enabling the control of the demoulding cycles and the measurement, in real time, of the cakes dryness.
  • Automatic hatch under the filter-press (operated by a pneumatic cylinder) for thermal insulation of the technical room and collection of the drippings during the washing cycle.
  • Automatic washing device for cloths suitable for all MS range of compact filter-presses. Washing cycle totally monitored by PLC.
